A recent poll conducted by O2 found nearly 16 million office workers didn’t take their full lunch break last year.
The same study also revealed that around 60% of office workers choose to eat lunch at their desk – some while continuing to work.
According to the BBC programme ‘back in time for dinner’ this trend started in the 1980’s when Marks and Spencer created the first pre-packaged sandwich (salmon and tomato incidentally).
Eating food at your desk supports the chance of you using a dirty unhygienic keyboard and mouse daily. Crumbs love to get snuggled up in the keys and mouse with some grease. If these aren’t cleaned they can lead to bacteria multiplying and are likely to make you ill.
