Most of us are aware of the risks related with an unclean office, but do you know what causes these germs to fester and travel around your office?
A new survey conducted by a global hygiene company, SCA, studied 1,000 workers and their attitudes towards hygiene in the office. The conclusion exposed that almost 66% of UK office workers wished their place of work was cleaner and more hygienic, with only 25% of workers rating there office as hygienic.
Despite this, only 16% of employers provide training and education on office hygiene.
In addition, more than 10% of office workers felt their health had been compromised because of poor office hygiene standards. Subsequently, these employees have time of work sick which, in turn, affects the day to day running of the organisation.
The survey delved deeper to discover some of the worst culprits for poor hygiene. 65% of women aspire to a cleaner workplace, compared to only 50% of men. Women are also more ‘hands on’ when it comes to tackling hygiene with 61% participating in some form kind of office cleaning.
